Primary Purpose:
Coordinate the district’s College, Career and Military Readiness, Career and Technical Education, and Wellness programs. Collaborate with staff to formulate, develop, implement and evaluate accountability with regard to CCMR, CTE, and Wellness. College, Career and Military Readiness includes the cultivation of, oversight of and the insurance of growth and standards met with regard to Dual Credit programs both Academic and Career Related for the purpose of ensuring College, Career and Military Readiness standards are met by campus and students. Ensure funds related to each program are in compliance with regulations and guidelines for State and Federal program use.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
Master’s degree in education and T-TESS certified preferred
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of graduation requirements
Knowledge of career development
Knowledge of College, Career, and Military Readiness indicators, pathways for industry certification, post-secondary training, FAFSA completion, college entrance requirements and exams
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to students, parents, and district staff
Experience:
Campus level administration, secondary preferred
Classroom teaching experience, secondary preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Administration
- Determine the goals, objectives, and priorities of the CCMR program in conjunction with campus high school counselors, principals, and other staff and within the goals and strategic plan established by the district.
- Monitor the delivery of the CCMR, CTE, and Wellness curriculum on district campuses.
- Supervise and support district programming to enhance career pathways and certification programs.
- Coordinate college and career development services and establish and maintain business/education partnerships that support the district’s strategic plan related to CCMR.
- Coordinate the scheduling, registration, and administration of college entrance exams; analyze and distribute test results as appropriate.
- Evaluate the CCMR program effectiveness based on evaluative findings and recommend changes as needed.
- Develop and administer CCMR budget based on documented needs and ensure that operations are cost effective and funds are managed wisely.
- Ensure that all campuses have needed resources to support CCMR and recommend purchase, replacement, and repair of equipment when needed.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and board policy.
- Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
Program Management
- Plan and conduct professional development, orientation, training, and certification programs for CTE/CCMR staff.
Consultation
- Assure that CTE and Wellness Advisory meetings and involvement activities are carried out.
Budget and Inventory
- Monitor grant and state compensatory funded programs and their expenditures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
- Ensure that programs are cost effective and that federal programs are managed wisely.
- Compile budget and cost estimates based on documentation program needs.
Policy, Reports, and Law
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required, including financial reports to TEA.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and the local board policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
