Primary Purpose:

Implement and monitor the RTI process in order to increase student achievement for identified at-risk students.  Assist with the coordination of the Child Study team process for struggling students.  This includes collaborating with the grade level staff in the implementation of RTI.  Work with students to reach the State academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.  Assist the campus with the administrative requirements on a Title 1 school wide campus. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Valid Texas teaching certificate

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong background in curriculum and instruction
  • Strong knowledge of three tier response-to-intervention (RTI) process
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of state required testing programs
  • Knowledge of computer and software applications
  • Ability to interpret test data
  • Such additions and alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate and acceptable

 

Experience:

Three (3) years of successful teaching experience preferred

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Analysis and Collaboration

  1. Implement the 3-tier Response to Intervention instructional system in order to increase student achievement.
  2. Intervene with identified groups of learners with specific targeted learning needs and work with those groups of students to increase student achievement;  
  3. Teach appropriate differentiation and intervention instructional strategies; employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the student groups involved.
  4. Analyze Data and record data in E-RTI, with specific focus on learners who need more time to acquire Tier I knowledge. Work with those at-risk students to reach Tier I level.
  5. Assist teachers with Progress Monitoring Students and perform progress monitoring on Tier II and III students in an effort to obtain data every 2 weeks.
  6. Make data-based instructional decisions regarding student learning needs: use data to work with students to pass the State Academic Achievement test.
  7. Assist students in analyzing and improving methods and habits of study to pass the State Academic Achievement test.

For all assigned duties:

  1. Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods in accordance with district requirements.
  2. Keep informed of and comply with district, state and federal regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
  3. Articulate the district’s mission and goals in the area of school improvement and help support the progress towards reaching the goal with all stakeholders and community.

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
  • Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
  • Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
  • Lifting: Occasional lifting (30 pounds)
  • Environment: Frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel
  • Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

 

Pay Determination:        $175 per day      100% Fund Title V
